ANNUAL REPORT.

(Special to “Tirg£s.- r l WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. The report for 19CS of the AccidentInsurance Branch of the Government Insurance Department states that the premium income amounted to £20.595,. as against £2i,477 in 1907. The ratio- - of claims to premiums earned, was 57 per cent. Tile total claims paid since the inception of the branch have amounted to £83,303. The ratio of expenses to premiums was 46 per cent, the same as last year. The mortgages on property, which represents 93.6 per cent- of the total assets of the branch, bave been increased from £35.605 to £40,050, and are on a satisfactory basis.
