THE WEATHER

The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’ weather summary and forecast: With the exception of the west coast of the South Island, and during, the night in the southernmost- parts, the weather has been fair everywhere. Winds have changed to the 'westward over the North Island, and more northerly in the South, and freshened generally. The barometer has fallen low in the south and risen in the north, so that the gradients are steepened and a heavy westerly !gal*e is now probable south of Kawhia and Castle-Point, and a further fall in the barometer everywhere.
