SCHOONER WARATAH GROUNDS
{Ter Press Association.l AUCKLAND, October 20. Tlie schooner Waartah, bound for Gisborne when beating out of Kaipara, missed stays, and grounded on the edge of Tory Shoal. She was-subsequently floated without damage of any consequence. KICKED BY A COLT. BLENHEIM, October 20. A man named James McOonway was kicked in the stomach by an unbroken olct at Sea View, near Seddon, yesterday. He was brought into Blenheim, where he lies in a serious condition. MOTOR CAR SMASH. DUNEDIN, October 20. A motor car bound for Oamaru races with L. C. Hazlett and Kett, wellknown sports, ran into a post at NorthEast Valley this morning owing to a steering gear accident. The car was smashed, but the occupants escaped with a few scratches'.
