The wheat market remains unchanged, but the position of holders is becoming stronger. On account of the stocks held by millers being so far reduced many are now coming on the market. During the past week many millers have shown an unmistakable inclination to make purchases. Although in nearly all cases they demurred at the prices asked by holders they the parcels placed on offer. News from. Home has also strengthened holders hands, while the recent Commonwealth developments have tended in the same direction. The week’s offering has been within narrow* limits, and in some cases the prices asked are much beyond the limits of merchants and speculators, with the result that business is very limited. The prices quoted are: Tuscan and Pearl 4s 3d to 4s 4d, Hunter’s 4s 2d to 4s 3d. Oats are quoted at Is 5d to Is 7d.
