PRODUCE SALES. The following prices ruled at Messrs. Malcolm and Co.’s produce sale, on Saturday Chicks, Scl to Is; fowls Is 9d to 2s Scl; roosters 2s to 2s 3d; turkeys os to 8s; eggs lid and Is per dozen; butter 9d to lOd; onions 2d per lb.; potatoes 10s per sack; apples 17s 6d per bushel case; oranges 8d per dozen; and small vegetables as usual. HORSE SALES. Some two score horses were put up for auction at Messrs Williams and Kettle’s weekly sale on Saturday. Bidding, however, was generally slow, and several lots had to be put back. Hacks fetched up to £5 12s Cd, and harness horses sold at from £6 5s to £l7 ss. 'Unbroken horses offered on account of Mr. J. Hinton brought from £8 os to £l4 10s. NEW ZEALAND DRAUGHT HORSES. (Received October 24, 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, October 23. At the wool sales greasy merino was 5 to 10 per cent., greasy crossbreds 5 per cent., and scoureds 5 per cent, lower. The heavy catalogue and the limited competition by Americans were the chief reasonsi of the decline.
