OPENING DAY TO-MORROW. To-morrow is the opening clay of " Poverty Bay’s big annual event—the Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Show, and already Gisborne is full of visitors. On Saturday night the town presented a scene of unusual animation, and yesterday a lot of country folk drove in. The judging to-morrow will start at [9.30 a.m. In No. 1 ring mares to breed hunters will be taken first, and the judging here will conclude at noon with light hacks up to list. No. 2 ring’s programme commences . with coaching-stamp horses, and finishes ' with boy riders, and in No. 3 ring yearling hacks will open the ball, and walking horses finish the judging at 12 o’clock. At this hour the driving competition through stakes will take place, and at 12.30 an adjournment will he made for lunch. The subsequent order of events is as follows: —Troop horses, hunters, pony jumping, maiden jumpers, and saddle trot. I Sheep classes 107 to 142 will also be judged to-morrow. On the second day i(Wednesday) special trains will be run for the convenience of visitors. The train that leaves Gisborne at 7 a.m. will return from Waikohu at 10.26 a.m. Special trips to the show ground will he made at 11 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.’', and the last train, will leave Gisborne at 5 o’clock. This train will leave the Park at 5.10 for the country, and two minutes later a train will leave the Park for Gisborne. Judging on Wednesday will commence at 9 in the morning and continue up to noon, in the three rings. At 2 p.m. the' grand parade will take place, and afterwards the jumping by ladies’ hacks, the steeplechase competitions, wire jump, and harness trot will be brought off. On this day also all the cattle, pigs-, dogs, produce, and poultry, and the remaining sheep and horse classes will be judged.
