On the Bradford wool market merinos are weaker, but there; are bettor inquiries for sixty-fours at 26d, and sixties at 25d. Crossbreds are unchanged. The butter market is quiet, Danish selling at 130 sto 1325. There is keen competition for small parcels ex the Otway and Everton Grange. Salted is quoted at 116 s to llSs, and unsalted at 118 s to 120 s. New secondaries and stored are absolutely neglected. There is little prospect for these at present, as the market is plentifully supplied with everything except choicest. Cheese "is slow of sale, New Zealand being quoted at about 55s to 565. The wheat market is dull, with a weakening tendency, owing to a lesser Continental demand and better reports of crops in the Argentine. There is little inquiry for cargoes. Australian January-Eebruary shipments are offered at 38s 3d. Steamer parcels Janu-ary-February shipments have been sold for Antwerp at 37s 9d to 38s 3d. There is a poor demand on spot for Australian at 42s fid to 43. New Zealand longberry, 3Ss to 395; shortberry 6u less. There is less demand for retail. Scotch and Dutch supplies are heavy. The beef market is steady, and there is a better demand. The average price on Saturday was: New Zealand beef was 3fd for hindquarters, and 3d for forequarters. The butter market is very firm for the best. The supply falls short of the demand, and .buyers are anxiously, waiting colonial shipments. The price el choicest New Zealand to-dav is 119 s, Australian 117 s, Danish 1325, and Siberian 107 s. The cheese is quiet with no alteration in prices. New Zealand cheese is at 575. The hemp market, is quiet, but steady. New Zealand grade on spot per ton is at £27 15s, fair grade £26 15s, fair current Manila £27, October to December shipment New Zealand fair grade £27 10s, fair grade £26 10s, Manila fair current £26 10s. The Manila output; for the week was 22.000 bales. The wheat market is firmer, i lie New Zealand stock is small. The market has been favorably affected by the inferior quality of Jlie English new crop. New Zealand longberried wheat on spot, cx granary, per quarter of 4981 b, is at 33s 6d : shortberried wheat 38s. The oats market is quiet, with small business-doing.
