POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION
The usual weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held. at. the Alhambra Club last evening, Mr. J. B. Hunt presiding., Arrangements were completed for the Town v. Country match on Saturday next, and Lieut.-Colonel Winter, Captain Perris, and Messrs _ 11. Thelwall and F. F. Knight were invited to act as umpires for the matches. It was decided to fix hours of play from 2.15 to 6 o’clock in tho months of November and February, instead of from 2.15 to 5.45 p.m, as at present. The Mohu Club wrote stating ' that, they intended sending a teain to Gisborne to play on Tuesday, November 9th, and Thursday, November 11th. — It was decided to accept the dates offered by the Motu Club. ... It was resolved to issue tickets to the respective secretaries of the clubs for admission to Victoria Domain on each Thursday and Saturday. . A motion was proposed tnat Ihursday competition matches should be played at Victoria Domain, but an amendment was carried that the matches be played at Victoria Domain and Taruheru, as at present, until the tint wicket at Victoria Domain was ready. It ivas decided to commence the allday matches against the Country and Waingake teams at 10 a.m. on batnrdav next. . , A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting. Y.M.C.A. CLUB. A meeting of Y.M.C.A. juniors was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening for the purpose of electing officers for the junior team. Mr. F. Aula presided’. The election resulted as follows : —Captain, D. Hutton; vice-cap-tain, M. Edwards; selection committee, captain, vice-captain, secretary, and G. Pollock. A The following will represent 1 .M.G.A. juniors in their match against the Wanderers at the Domain on Saturday: Hutton. Edwards, Pollock, MiU, Chirnside Brown, Nelson, Muir, H. Jones. Bloomfield, and Auld; emergencies, Munro, Winter, and East. WAINGAKE v. TOWN ELEVEN. The following players have been selected to represent the Waingake Club against the' Town eleven on Saturday next, play commencing at 10 a.m.: Coop (3), Parker (2), Colthart, O’Connor, Stewart, Jackson, Griffiths, and Ward.
