Bates’ summary and forecast: —This evening reports show that there has been little movement of the barometer. During the past twenty-four hours moderate south-easterly winds have prevailed, with cool and changeable weather. The present conditions, indicate moderate to strong south-eas-terly winds and a slowly rising barometer in the north, and easterly winds in the south. The weather will probably be unsettled and cloudy on the Whole, cold and damp about the East Cape. A westerly disturbance is due in the south to-morrow, but has not yet shown signs of development.
