SELF-DENIAL APPEAL. The results of the Salvation Army self-denial week show that in the North Island this year £7225 was collected, compared with £6977 last year, and in the South Island £5276, compared with £4526 last The Gisborne subscriptions were £7Ol 5s 2d (compared with £650 last year), and stand second on .the list. In the Gisborne total are included an estimate of the amount of several country subscriptions not yet to hand.
