Ttie following is the Rev, D. C. Bates’ summary and forecast : —The barometer-has risen steadily over tlie North Island, but there has been little movement in -the South. The weather lias been changeable, with light and variable winds. Tlie present indications are for mild and fair weather generally, with moderate to strong westerly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and northerly prevailing elsewhere. The barometer has a slight tendency to fall both in the ■extreme north and south, though• the general indications are for little movement.
