SELECTION OF PROFESSOR. CP ran Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Oct 28. At the Presbyterian Assembly to-day, the Rev. Jas. Ohisliolm brought up the report of the Theological College Committee, which recommended tlie Rev. John Dickie, A ~ Minister of Tar land. Scotland, for the nosition of Professor of Systematic Theology and New Testament Exegesis. At the final vote eighteen, votes were given for Mr. Dickie and eight foi Rev. Frank Dunlop. Ph.D., Knox ■Church, Invercargill- . The Rev. Dr. Erwin proposed t lie Rev Frarik Dunlop for the position, and'the Rev. J. K- Elliott proposed the Rev. Alexander White, M.A., B D. B Sc. for the position. After some considerable discussion it was decided to take a show of hands on each name. The count showed that, roughly, from 149 to 156 votes were given Tor the Rev. John Dickie, 46 or 47 for the Rev. F. Duiilop, and 13 for the Rev. A. White. As Mr. Dickie has an absolute majority, the Moderator put his name in a a'substantive motion, which was agreed to on the voices by a large majority. .
