Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bilkey, of Pukekohe, will celebrate the 70th anniversary of their wedding oil Sunday. NAPIER, October 29. There has been a controversy over the decision of the Borough Council to allow the lessee of the tea rooms at the new municipal baths to keep the rooms open on Sundays. The Council, last night, adhered to the decision, with the exception that the tea rooms vail have to be closed on Sunday's during the hours of midday and eremug church services. RAILWAY SERVANTS’ SOCIETY. DANNEVIRKE, October 29 At a meeting of the railway men held to-dav the following resolution was passed:—“That this meeting, representing all grades of the Railway Service, strongly protests against n y alteration of the clause in the Arbitration and Conciliation Act referring to the Society of Railway Servants, believing the same to be detrimental to its progress, and to railway men m general.” WESTPORT-STOCKTON COAL CO. WESTPORT, Oct. 29 On Tuesday and Wednesday last the Wostport-Stockton Coal Company shipped 3143 tons lOcwts of coal in 24 hours, which is their record, and is au excellent one for so young a company.
