POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB’S SPRING MEETING. SECOND DAY. The weather was fine, although threatening, for the second day’s racing of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s spring meeting. There-was a good attendance, and some interesting finishes were witnessed, the racing, on the whole, being decidedly good. Messrs Vita Bros.’ orchestra again contributed selections during the afternoon, and the various races were got off well up to time'. The sum of £4663. was put through the totalisator, as against £>528(0 for the corresponding day last year/ Nine bookmakers were licensed, at a fee of £ls each.
