“A BACHELOR’S HONEYMOON.” His Majesty’s Theatre was again filled on Saturday evening, when a second performance of “A~ Bachelor's Honeymoon” was given by Hugh Ward’s Comedy Co. The piece was warmly received, and numerous encores were accorded do the catchv songs and dances. The company left for Napier last •evening. PATHE PICTURE COMPANY— In reviewing the ‘‘Boy (Scouts to the Rescue” picture, the “New York Cinematograph eWorld” said: “This is the best military picture we have seen, and it can only be classed as a triumph m animated photography.” So much interest has, been token in the essay competitions held in conjunction with this picture in other centres that the Pathe Company have decided to hold one while the picture is being shown iu Gisborne. Tile subject is “Should Compulsory Military Training be Established in New Zealand?” Prizes (Ist 7s 6d, 2nd os) will be given for the two best essays. The competition is not solely confined to the Boy Scouts, but will bo open to local school children. Dr. Collins has kindly agreed to judge the papers, and his decision must be final. Those who enter for the competition are requested to ask for essay tickets when paying for admission to view the .picture" These tickets must he retained bv intending competitors until the results are announced. No names are required, only the number on the ticket must be signed. Friday evening next being the last evening the picture ay ill be projected, the winning numbers will be displayed on the screen and holders of corresponding numbers will be presented with prizes on the presentation of tickets. The management reserve the right to retain posses- ' sion of essays, but the successful essays will he published. AH letters are to be addressed: “Essay Competition. Pathe Picture Company, Theatre.
