THE WAIHI EXTENDED MINE
(Pun Press Association.! WAIHI, Nov. 1. The new reef recently intersected in the south-east crosscut No. 5 level in the Waihi Extended mine appears to he a cross lode connecting the' No. 3 lod-e with the No. 1, or the main Martha lode. A crosscut at right angles to No. 1 lode is now proceeding to prove its width, and has already penetrated for 15ft of highly mineralised ore. and there is yet no sign of the wall. This is the most important development that has occurred in the Extended mine, and the fact of this lode being, cut at the 1000 foot level, and well to the eastward of any workings on the field, promises well for-the future of this and the adjoining property—viz., the Consolidated.
