E.G.M.R. SPORTS.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE
Tliete C.M.R. Sports Committee met at the Garrison Hall last evening to complete arrangements for the forthcoming military sports, to be held at the Park on Tuesday next, November 9th (King’s Birthday). . It was decided to include an open leaping match in the programme, and to offer prizes of £2 and 10s for the event, for which entries will be received on the ground. The order of events was altered slightly, and it was decided to get programmes of events and entries printed. . . . The entries for the various events are coming in well, and it is expected that' therei.will be ,a large number ot competitors in each event. In addition to tho trophies already acknowledged, Lieut. Poynter has presented a very handsome set of carvers as a prize for the best horse in the squadron, and Captain Burton has given four pairs of spurs as trophies in one of the jumping events. _ Captain, Colebourne being unable to be present, Mr. Wm. B. Miller, an exofficer of the squadron, lias kindly consented to act with Lieut.-Colonel. Winter, V.D., in judging the military events. Mr. A. Waelisraann will judge the horses for Lieut. Poynter’s prize, and Mr. Frank Evans tho open leaping match. , ’ Arrangements have been made for special trains to run to and from tho Park for the convenience of patrons, and coaches will be running all day.
