CELEBRATIONS AT PICTON
[Pjstt Press Association.] BLENHEIM, Nov. 4. There was beautiful weather to-day for the Jubilee celebrations at Picton. Crowded trains left Blenheim during the morning, taking.volunteers, cadets, bands, and a large number of the general public. , The following are the results of yesterday’s competition at the Blenheim Jubilee band contest: —B flat bass: h . "Wilkins (Petone) 64, the only entrant; E flat bass, M. Hall (Westport) 69 It. H. Fulton (Blenheim) 66, H. M. Mansen (Nelson) and T. Fitzell (Petone) 65- E flat tenor, A. Mason (Blenheim) 68,’ J. McDonald (Westport) 67 ; quartettes, Westport Garrison 86, Blenheim Garrison 84, Westport Garrison No. 2 79. In the band contest the results were: G trombones, J. Cummings (Westport) 69 L. Hordaway (Blenheim Garrison) 66 L. M. Escort (Nelson) 60; B flat trombones, J. Cummings (Westport) 75 T. Neighbors (W 7 est,port) 1 3, L. Tunnicliffe .(Blenheim) 60; baritones, T Neighbors (Westport) 68, E. -Matthews (Blenheim Hibernian) 6o„
