C Bates’ summary and forecast-: Though moderate to strong southerly winds have prevailed, the barometer lias fallen gradually everywhere .The weather has-been generally warm and fine, with passing clouds, but rain has fallen on the West Coast and southern districts of the South Island and in the extreme north. The present indications are for a change in* conditions, and showery and changeable weather may be expected. The general aspect is abnormal and unstable/ the high pressure due in the north not yet having shown signs of development, and a westerly area being due in the south on Sunday evening.
