THE WEATHER.

The following is the Rev. D. C. •Bates’ summary and forecast : The weather lias recently been very unsettled. The westerly low pressure area, which affected the whole country on Saturday, has been followed by another low pressure .in the south. Southerly winds prevailed, but have backed and increased in the south. The barometer is very unsteady in the south. Present indications are for a heavy westerly and south-west gale south of Kawhia and Napier, and strong westerly winds further north. The weather will probably be unsettled and cloudy north of Kawhia and Napier, and stormy in the south, and' probably wet and squally most of the week.
