The following is the Rev. D. C. BateV..summary and forecast: A westerly low pressure has prevailed in the south for nine days, with stormy weather at times. 'Westerly . winds, strong to gale, have prevailed south of New Plymouth and Napier, and fog and drizzle on the west coast of the South Island. A southerly gale was also reported last night at Cape Campbell. Present indications are for further fall of the barometer everywhere, hut a rise is due shortly in the south. Conditions are also ominous in ino tax north. Bain probable everywhere, with high northerly winds north of the East Cape, and Kawhia, and a westerly gale, changing to southerly, probable elsewhere within 30 hours, with a cold snap and snow on the liiglrdevels.
