A RECORD ATTENDANCE.

For People’s Day at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Metropolitan Show' the weather was fine and warm, and, as a result, there was a very large attendance, which is estimated to have exceeded that of lastyear, when a record of 30,000 people was ’put up. The Premier visited the show* grounds during the afternoon, and inspected the exhibits under the guidance of the president (Mw A. Chamberlain). The takings to-day at the gates totalled £I2S9 9s 6d, which does not include visitors who wont to the show by rail. For the three days the estimated takings (with the exception above mentioned) are £looo, as compared with actual takings last year of £1676.
