The Steinheil verdict was awaited two and a-half hours, and was received with prolonged applause. Madame Steinheil fainted and was carried outside.
Spectators stormily cheered M. Maitre Aubin, her counsel. Two thousand people outside gave another demonstration, hissing being intermingled with cheers.
