The following • is the Rev. D. G. Bates’ .summary and forecast: Showery weather has been experienced in many parts, with considerable rainfall in both the extreme north and southern •districts. Winds have been variable and squally occasionally. The barometer lias risen two-tenths in the southernmost districts, but iallen sliglitlj elsewhere. Conditions are rather ominous in the extreme north, and a westerly -area of low pressure is smartly approaching from across the Tasman Sea, with the lowest pressure to pass in the south about Sunday night. 1 resc'ht. indications are for _ northerly winds, strong to gale. Rain ds probable and a falling barometer everywhere.
