PROPOSAL TO RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN. UNDER “THE LOCAL BODIES’ LOANS ACT, 1908.”
NOTICE is Lercby’ given that L,..e Gisborne Borough Council intend to take 4 the necessary steps to obtain tiio consent of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne to borrow £175,000 by way of Special Loan for the following undertakings:— Ist!—-The Loan of 175,000 will bn allocated and spent on the following works :• —
(a) The sum of £60,500 to provide Sewerage and neca-sary plant i.n respect of tli:• same for the Borough of Gisborne, as per report and plan of Mr F. W. Merchant, M.1.C.E., and now deposited at llie Council Chambers and open for inspection to all Ratepayers. .(l>) Tim sum of £IO,OOO to provide Sewer Connection with Premises in respect to the Sewage scheme for the Borough of Gisborne, as prepared by Mr F. W.. Man-bant, M.I.C.E. This sum is to be repaid by the owners of properties connecting with the main sewer in proportion to the amount expended upon each property by equal yearly instalments of principal and interest, extending over five years, at the rate of 5 per centum, with a limit for each connection of £l2. (c) The- sum of £16,142 to provide Electric Light and Power for the Borough of Gisborne, as per report of Messrs Niven and Co., including suliicient power for pumping sewage. (d) The sum of £4950 to provide a Bridge and A noroaches across the Waimata River, at McLean Street and Hurahura Road, as per plan and report of Mr L. P. Spencer, M.I.C.E. (o) The sum of £25,000 to provide a Tram Service for the Borough of Gisborne, as per report of Air Heath, providing four cars and seven miles of track.
(0 The sum of £65,000 for general Formation, Metalling, and Improvement of Roads and Streets within the Borough of Gisborne, as per schedule prepared by Ah' Gardner, M.1.C.E., and it is proposed to allocate such sum as follows:
(g) The sum of £6300 to provide for J the acquisition of Recreation (Grounds at Kaiti and AVhataupoko and 'lmprove- | nK'iits to Borough Reserve at Childers Road and Roebuck Road and the Recreation Reserve in Aberdeen Road, allocated ns follows: — Recreation Ground, Ivaiti -000 Acquisition and Improvement, Kaiti Hill 1000 Recreation Ground, AVhataupoko 2000 Picnic Resort, AVaimata River ... 250 Improvements Borough Reserve ... 1000 Botanical Gardens, Recreation Ground .... It is also stipulated that a Sinking Fund of per centum per annum out of such Special Rate shell besot aside towards Repayment of the Loan. 4th.—lt is proposed to pay the preliminary expenses and cost of laising 11 in. loan and! the first year s interest out of iih'o loan.
