RIFLE SHOOTING.
A MATCH AT WAIROA
.(From Our Own Correspondent.) A team of eight alien, representing Te Ivapu Rifle Club, fired the second match of the season at Wairoa on November 9th, for the silver challenge cup, and managed to score a win over the Huramua Mounted Rifles by the narrow margin of seven, points. The ,match was a very interesting one owinfT to the closeness of the contest, and was remarkable for the wondeiiully improved shooting of the volunteers compared with previous cup contests. The new short rifle with wnich they aie now armed is evidently very much to their liking. Owing to counter attractions, Nuhaka did not send a team, but will probably fire tlieir match later on. Following are the scores, the ranges being 200, 500, and 600 yards: Te Kapu Rifle Ciub. —M. P. Chapman 32 ! 33. 27-92; T. Hall, 29, 32, og 90; A. E. Beckett, 33. 31, 2o—Si; G.
