HORSE SALE. .. 4 ' The weekly sale on behalf of Messrs Williams and .Kettle was held at Wyllie’s Horse Bazaar on Saturday. Prices were not too good, and though bidding was fairly brisk just before lunch, things were very slack towards the eiw: of the sale. Altogether about 40 horses were yarded, .of which 25 were knocked down to the highest bidder. Hacks fetched from £2 12s' 6d to £2B 10s. the latter price being paid tor a nice colt by ’Dexter.. Harness iiorses were sold a-x from £9 to £24..

The following were the. ruling prices at Messrs Malcolm and Co.’s produce sales on Saturday:—Hens, Is 9cl to 2a Dd: roosters. 2s 3d to 3s; chicks, 8d and lOd; ducks, Is Sd to 2s 3d: turkeys 7s 9d; butter 9d and lOd per lb; eggs, Is and Is lid per doz; peas, Is 8d per ,peck: beans, Is per peck; new potatoes Lid to; 2id, per lb., and cabbages 2s 6d per doz.
