WAIHI EAST GOLDMINING COMPANY.
MEETING OF
A special general meeting of the shareholders of the AVaihi East Goldmining Company was held 1 last night in the Poverty Bav Turf Club’s room, Masonic Hotel, Mr. AY. A. O’Meara occupying the chair. A large number of shareholders weire present. The following notice of motion, given at a previous meeting by Mr. Turner, was seconded by Mr. Hall, and earned: “That as no steps had been taken to rc-construct the YVaihi East Gold Mining Company, Limited, as per a resolution passed at a meeting held on the Bth August, 1908, the present company now sell its interests to amew company to be formed called the New AVaihi East Gold Mining Company, Limited, with a capital of £50,000, payable as follows: Is on application, Is <m allotment, and calls of not more than Is per share per month for the balance, the AVaihi East Gold Mining Company to receive £12,500 -in fully paid-up shares for the whole of its assets handed over to the new company, and that the secretary be instructed to call an extraordinary meeting of shareholders for the purpose of placing this resolution before them for their consideration and confirmation ; five to be the minimum number of shares to be held by one shareholder.”
After a large amount of'discussion it was proposed by Mr. Lawless, and seconded by Mr. Teat, “That, the vendors’ shares be pooled until 20,000 contributing shares shall have been allotted in the new company.”—-Carried. The {■secretary (Mr. J. AV. Findlay), who has recently visited the company’s claim at AVaihi, stated that the prospects were exceedingly good, an outcrop of andesite rock, 64 feet in width, and showing a valuable.amount of gold, was to be seen. He also said that at AVaihi he had heard reports from experts showing that the propertv is considered an exceedingly valuable one. The. enthusiasm shown and the demand for shares gave every indication that the new company would very soon be floated. At the conclusion of the meeting votes of thanks were passed to the chairman (Mr. AV. A. O’Meara), and to the secretary (Mr. J. A\ r . Findlay), the latter liaving made a special trip from Napier to attend the meeting.
