TPeu Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. The first wool sale for tlie present season in Auckland was opened to-day. The market opened briskly , m sjm nat-bv wHh the advances at the London, Sydney, Napier. Wellington, and Christchurch sales, and groovers vnl have every reason to feel well satisfied at the general run of prices, finer wools advanced lid to 2»d, as co ™ pared with the corresponding sale of Fast season, and coarser and inferior wools lid to lid. Top pnees were.obtained by W. Duder, of Maraetai, 14Jd for 14 bales of fine crossbreds and byJames Kennedy of Putiki, 14 \ d /°T half-breds. Eight bales of half-bred wool submitted by J. M. Day, of M aiheke, were sold at Is 2jd, and J. Kennedy got Is 2d for medium crossbreds. The average rrices realised were: -tiaiibred merinos lli<l to 14-ad, superfine crossbred 12d to UJd, medium crossbred 9id to 14d, coarse crossbred i i,d to Bid, bellies and pieces 4sd to Wsd.
