The races in connection with the Gisborne Chib were continued last evening, when the third round, of 'the double sculling and four-oared races were rowed. In the double-sculls for IVli. Cox’s trophies Hamilton and Far am beat "Williams and Hobson bv a quarter of .a length after a splendid race, and Hansen and Stephenson Avon very easily from Gully and Richards. These were the semi-nnals, and the finals wil] bo rowed this evening. In the four-oared' races for Mr. G. Morse’s trophies, A. Coleman, McOonville, Fraser, and DaAVson beat Rogers, Manning,. Bousfield, and E. Morse by a length and a half after a good race, and Cowan, Everiss, Hudson and Wrigut beat J. Adair, Tocker, Muir and Spragg rather easily by a length, the final in this competition between Coleman’s, crow and Cowan’s takes place to-night. POVERTY BAY CLUB. The races for Mr B. S. Cox’s trophies were continued, when some interesting finishes Avere witnessed; Newton, O’Neill Whitfield, and Christian, beat T. McConnell, E. Roche, Scott and L. Clark rather easily by a length. Nicolas, Doig, Allen, and Seeahs beat McConnell, Bristow, Whitfield, and Lang bv a quarter of a length alter an excellent race. The crew stroked by A. Kirk had a, victory by half a lengtu over C. Clark’s crew after a hard-rowed race. . . The races will be continued to-night-.
