Strong westerly winds have prevailed north of Kawhia and Gisborne, northeflies. strong to gale, aboiit Cook Strait and a south-westerly moderate -to Strong in the south. The present indications are for probably only .a temporary rise of the barometer in the south, with moderate to strong southerly winds and westerly winds in the north, with changeable weather everywhere, showery and cloudy at times in most parts of the country.
