33m following is - the Rev. D. C. Bates’ summary and forecast: The barometer has risen steadily everywhere, with moderate, to strong southerly winds, except about Cook Straits, where, southerly gales have occurred. To-da- at Cape Campbell, Cape Egmont, and New Plymouth the weather has been mild and changeable, with light rain in parts, and a thunderstorm in -the Bay of Plenty this, afternoon. Anti-oyclonic conditions now prevail, though not of a settled character. The present indications arc for moderate to stronw southerly winds cwr the North ’ Island and westerly in the northern parts of the South Island, but northerly elsewhere. The weather will probably be fair in most parts of the country. The weather is somewhat- unsettled; about the East Cape.. . '
