SEARCH FOR BODIES CONTINUES

The search for the remaining bodies of the victims of Hie boating fatality at the mouth of tlm-rtakaia still continues, and last night another large party patrolled the beach to the north and south. None of the other bodies had been recovered up to midday to-day. It was hoped that the bodies might be cast up by the high tide at one o’clock tins morning, ’but'this did not happen. A feature of the terrible accident is the manner in which the residents of the-, township and surrounding districts have so willingly aided in searchingSome of them have not been to bed since Monday night, and they intend to go out. again to-night. : At an inquest on the body of Miss Rountree, held at Southbridge to-day before Mr.-H. W. Bishop, Coroner, a verdict of accidental drowning was recorded. The body was conveyed toChristchurch by the morning train.. Young Baxter is still in a hvsterical condition and is confined to his bed, consequently being unable to appear atthe inquest.
