THE WEATHER
The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’; summary and forecast: A high pressure ‘has prevailed, and the weather has ’been'fine, except about the* East Cape, where rain has fallen ana' a south-east gale, sprang up this afternoon., Moderate to strong south'easterly winds have prevailed over tlie North Island, and easterly elsewhere. Present-indications 'a.re for a falling barometer everywhere, with freshening easterlies soon over the North Island and northerlies elsewhere. The weather will probably continue fair inmost parts but with increasing haziness alid cloudiness'-for more unsettled weather, due first in; the extreme north and south after about 36 >hours.
