LARGE' SUMS MADE. A divorce suit was heard before Mr. Justice. Hodges in. the Melbourne ■ Practice. Court, in which the petitioner was Sarah Ann Turner (47) ; 24, Bruns-wick-street, Fitzroy, Petitioner in her affidavit, stated that she earned her living as a nurse, boarding-house keeper, and herbalist. Respondent was George Turner (52), of Trafalgar, farmer. Petitioner gave evidence that since 1903 respondent had never given her a shilling of money, and she had supported the-family. . , .. : Mr Jones (for respondent): Dunng the last three or four years you have earned largo sums by clairvoyancy ? “I have earned sufficient money to keep and educate my children.” ‘'Have your earnings not amounted to £2O, . £3O, or £4O a week?” _ \ “1 have earned such money in pydriey, nx>t in Melbourne; and you have ■to"consider my expenses.” ‘'Have you not, apart from your herbalist business, made as much-as £lO to £l4 a week?” . ' , , “Not here. The first tune I went to Sydney j made over £3OO, but the second time I made less.” , Corroborative evidence having been given, , a decree nisi for the dissolution of the marriage was granted.
