BOY SCOUTS.

ST. ANDREW’S TROOP. The Wolf Patrol. —On Saturday afternoon last the Wolf Patrol went out tracking on the Kaiti' Beach and hills. Scout Blackburn started out at 1.45 p.m. and made a very good track. He showed great engenuity in making signs, sometimes cutting them on the rocks. After the tracking was finished the two patrols, the Wolves and the Peewits had ‘‘deer-stalking,” but owing to the rain operations had to ge curtailed. On Friday of last week the 1 scouts did some good work, learning part of the Scout Law, and playing “Kim’s” name. This game is a capital one for observation and memory and some good scores were made. Peewit Patrol.—As there was not a full muster the Peewits joined the Wolves on Saturday afternoon, in tracking Scout Blackburn. He laid a fine track which gave a good deal of trouble once or twice when lost. On class-night the haka was practised. This haka will he a great thing when properly performed. Y.M.C.A TROOP. On Saturday last the Y.M.C.A. Scouts’ Tigers, Eagles,. Ottos, and Codkooes had a very enjoyable afternoon tracking, starting from Mr. C. Taylors’ store. Soout Jackson was soon found lying in a cave, but Lawless, who •was laying by, could not be found. The troop then started lassooing, and only Leader Jones, of the Cockooes, was successful in lassooing the object.
