COMMERCIAL.
HORSE SALES.
There was a good attendance at Messrs Wililams and Kettle’s horse sale on Saturday, bidding being fairly brisk before lunch. About 50 horses were yarded. Hacks fetched from £2 to £9 7s 6d, and harness horses from. £5 to £l6 'los. A chestnut yearling by the Welsh pony Mars was sold for £9 10s.
PRODUCE SALE
Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co. ’a 4 weekly produce sale was held on Saturday. 'On behalf of Mr Miller 25 pure bred brown- Leghorns and Plymouth Rocks were sold and 6 Indian Runner ducklings fetched 1 Is 7d each. Other prices were: Table birds, _s to 4s; ducks 2s 6d to 3s 6d; eggs Is Id to Is 3d: butter, 9d and lOd per lb; potutoes Id and 2d per lb; new peas Is 9d per peck; oats, 2s 5d per bushel; lemons, 6d per doz.; gooseberries 3d. per lb; rhubarb, 4s per doz. bundles; <; and onions, 2d per lb.
