THE WEATHER

The following is the Rev. D. G. Bates’ summary and forecast:; —The weather has continued very unsettled about the East Cape, mild and humid generally elsewhere, but very changeable in the south, where the barometer has also been very unsteady. Fogs are reported on the east coast this evening, with steady sea breezes. The present indications are for freshening easterly winds, with increasing cloudiness and fog, and drizzling-showers in parts. The barometer will probably rise slowly southward of New Plymouth and Napier, and fall more rapidly with winds veering to the northward' after 24 hours, with rain probably following.
