NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION..

' rPmi PitKSH Association.! ' WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. The annual meeting of the Council o ,f the New Zealand Ameteur Athletic Association was held to-night, Dr. Newman, president, occupying the chair. Officers were elected, as follows: President, Mr. 'A. Marryatt (Dr. Newman finding public duties prevent him again accepting the position); vice-presidents, Messrs W. F. Larkin (Wellington), E. L ' Chaffey (Canterbury) / auditor, Mr. C. P. Morpethhon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. G.. Talbot. The championship' meeting, for 19091910 was allotted to Auckland, no date being fixed. ‘ Reinstatements were made; as follows: W. J. Muftro (Otago), D., Stewart (Southland), W. Hogan (Petone), Wm. T. H. Owens (Hokitika). It was decided that' L. J. Furrie, A. W. Hall, and E. W. Echlington (Palmerston North), be reinstated if the reinstatement committee is satisfied that they did not i compete as professionals while the Manawatu Amateur Athletic Club was in existence. The application of T. W. Leslie (Wellington) for reinstatement is to be forwarded to the Australasian Union with a recommendation from the Council that the special circumstances of the» case be taken into consideration.

In connection with 'the proposed visit of Wheatley and Davis to the Dominion, it was decided to ask them if they could commence their tour the first week in January, finishing with the championship meeting at Auckland. It was decided to ask the opinion of the various centres throughout the Dominion as to the advisability of levying a small capitation fee on members of clubs towards the expense of representation at the Olympic "games.
