[Pick Pkesb Anhooiation I NAPIER, Nov. 29, 'l’lie catalogue for the second wool, sale of the season to-morrow comprises. 12.702 bales. A shipment of about 400 bales front Wairoa has been shut out owing to the steadier arriving too late. The prices for the .first sale are expected to be fully maintained.HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE. WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated London, November 27th, states: Tlie mutton market is quiet, with a tendency in favor of buyers. Stocks are being reduced, but the supply meets the demand. The average price -ol Canterbury mutton is 4d, North Island 32d. . The sale .of lamb is dull all round, owing to the poor demand. Considerable quantities of stale lamb are being placed on the market. The average price of Canterbury lamb\ is 4d, other New Zealand brands 32*1. The beet market is weak. Supplies of River Plate beef are heavy. New Zealand hindquarters average 3.\d, forequarters 3d. There is a good demand for butter.- Prices are firm, but on a lower level, in anticipation of heavy arrivals. .The average price of New Zealand choicest butter is 118 s, Australian 114 s, Danish 128 s, Siberian 110 s. The cheese market is quiet, but steady, with no change in prices. Noiv Zealand is at 575. The hemp market is firm, with a hotter demand. New Zealand good fair grade on spot is at £2B'los, fair £27 10s, Manila fair current £27 10s, January to March shipments New- Zealand' good fair grade £2B, fair £27, Manila fair current £2/. The output of Manila for the week is 21,000 bales. The cocksfoot seed market is firm. Buyers have been offering - more freely.
