SLY GROG CASES.

SOLICITING AN ORDER FOR

LIQUOR

Piikhb Association.} ASHBURTON, Dec. 3. James Lorgelly, hotelkeeper, of Methven, in Sehvyn licensing district, was to-day fined £lO on a charge of soliciting an order for liquor on the Ashburton racecourse. The case arose out of a sly-grog case hoard a fortnight ago when Lorgelly gave evidence which led to' his own conviction to-day.

SELLING WITHOUT A LICENSE.

DUNEDIN, Dec. 3

At the Police Court this morning, Mary Parker, on a charge of selling liquor without a license, was fined £SO. The Magistrate said it was a very bad case.
