Mr Frank R. Jeffreys, a Presbyterian divinity student in his last year, lias left Christchurch on an interesting mission (says the “Outlook”). As the result of an arrangement entered into between the Church Extension and Youth Committees, and in consequence of financial assistance received from the ladies'of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union, it has been made possible to set apart an agent to do special work in the back-blocks of the South Island during the summer months. A covered van and a pair of horses have;been purchased, and a large stock of hooks, .wall texts, etc., provided. Thus equipped Mr Jeffreys will visit upland, farms, far-hack stations, railway camps, and other places untouched by the ordinary agencies of the Church. , : ,'He-will conduct service wherever an is given, and it is expected that in many places t ie seeds of some work will be sown. M'i' News travels,- especially good news, and it’s remark&ble how folks from far and near write Grieve, the people s jeweller, for particulars of his wonderful value Engagement Rings. Size cards sent to any address for the asking.* :
