HOW PREPARATIONS WERE BEING MADE FOR FLIGHT.
> , , • LONDON, Oct. 20. A timely discovery at Princetown Prison recently nipped in the bud preparations which were being secretly and carefully made for an escape. For some time a convict named Pringle has been under special observation, and yesterday a small saw, five inches long together with a small kbife and a needle and thread, was found in his possession. _ > ■ ' Suspecting that he had other things in some place of, concealment the officials, while the convicts were at dinner, i dug up the ground in the stone shod at the spot where Pringle lias been recently working, and/their research was rewarded by the. discovery of another ■sayv\ eiglft inches long, and, a ismall bit for drilling purposes, buried, in the. soil; 1 Pringle is the convict who a short time ago cut through the bar of bis cell with a saw, similar to those now found in liis possession, and the attempt he wa® them making to escape was only discovered on the eve of its aocomplishinenti ’Hoiv Pringle lias succeeded iii possessing himself of these implements •is a mystery iwliioh completely puzzles the officials. ,
