THE LICENSING BALLOT. I Pick Piihsh Association.! AUCKLAND, Dec. 4 V The. executive body of the No-license party carried unanimously resolutions of warm approval of the resolutions passed by the Wellington convention demanding separate ballot papers on the issues of no-license and Dominion prohibition, and expressing unabated confidence in the leaders of the party, believing that their will prove of great value in the near future. EARTHQUAKE SHOCK. FEILDING, Dec. 4. A short, sharp shock of earthquake occurred at 9.31 last night. AMBULANCE- ASSOCIATION ' SATURDAY. WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. Street collections on behalf of St. John Ambulance Association were made in Wellington ..yesterday. The. collections totalled about £223.ARBITRATION COURT AWARDS. NELSON, Dec. 4. At a meeting of the Employers’ Association a resolution was carried piotesting against- the passing of legislation that will override or in any way interfere with Arbitration Court awards. AMBULANCE SATURDAY. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 4. Ambulance Saturday is being prosecuted to-day .with great enthusiasm by 120 ladies clad' in white, each bearing a Geneva cross on her arm. They are evidently doing good business, full collection boxes having several times 'required replacing by empties to allow tho work to go on. The weather is beautiful. HOSPITAL SATURDAY IN DUNEDIN.
DUNEDIN, Dec. 5. Hospital Saturday in Dunedin has again moved very successful. Last year the collectors made a. special effort, and) obtained £1294, a record for 'the Dominion. On Saturday £673 m cash was received, -and various amounts are to.he added and collections to.come in from some country districts. It is confidently expected to .raise the total to £IOOO. ’ Tho weather was ideal,
nad a large -band of ladies' and geritlc’irien worked hard from early morning till nearly mid-inght. The institutions which will benefit are the Dunedin hospital,. St. John Ambulance Association, Karitanc Home for Babies, Jubilee Convalescent Fund, Hospital for Incurables. and the Patients’ and Prisoners’ Aid Society.
