MONDAY. DECEMBER 6. (Before Air AY. A. Barton, S.MA DRUNKENNESS. Geo. Vines and Hugh Nicholson, previously convicted during the past six months, were both convicted and fined £l. costs 2s in default 4 days. _ John Heaphy, with a list of previous convictions, none during the last six months, was fined £l, costs 2s, in default 48-'hours imprisonment. A first offender was also fined 5s and costs 2s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. PROCURING LIQUOR. John Heaphy was also charged that he did obtain liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. The accused had been previously convicted in May -for a similar offence and fined £5. On pleading guilty accused was fined £lO, costs , 2s, in default two months” imprisonment. A MAINTENANCE CASE. Tbe case of Mary Godfrey (Mr. Sainsbury) v. John Godfrey (Mr. T. A. Coleman), for disobedience of a maintenance order, adjourned from December. 3, was again called on. The amount involved was £l4. Mr. Coleman asked His Worship to allow the case to stand down, as the defendant believed he could borrow £4 during the day. Mr. Sainsbury said complainant was willing to accept £9 at once, and the remainder before Christmas. The case was then adjourned till 2 p.m.. wlien defendant produced the £9, and Mr. Coleman asked for an adjournment, of eight weeks. - This was objected to, and the case adjourned to the 17th inst. His Worship warned the defendant that the OXder would*’ have to be complied with.
