ENTERTAINMENTS.

PATHE PICTURES.

At the theatre last night the finai performance of the current week’s programme of Pathe Pictures was given before a large and appreciative audience. To-night -a complete change of programme will bfe presented. The principal items of interest are: “Aviation Week at Rlieims," an interesting and educational -picture of considerable length. This series gives a graphic description of how the airship is managed and manipulated. The daring feats accomplished by the aviators are indeed sensational, and it was during the week at Rlieims that- many records were made. “The King at Knowsley” should , prove another popular item, inasmuch as it shows King Edward in the shootiug field; certainly a oleosant change from the usual line'of carriages and postillions, military uniforms, and brass bands which hitherto have been associated with previous pictures of-Bri- , tain’s monarch. A series of scenic 'W views representing “Kenilworth” are said to be very beautiful, and for stereoscopic effect and color excel anything of the kind before shown. Although the Melbourne Cup was run but a month ago, and that some 1400 miles from hero, the management have secured a fine representation of the race in picture form, and it should prove ono of the most oxciting films in the programme. It will be remembered that Prince Foote (to use a sporting phrase) ran the race of liis life on this occasion. Lovers of dramatic films are well catered for, “Saved by Love” tieing especially good, and with the usual batch of comic subjects this programme excels „ all others previously shown in < Gisborne. There will be only two perform- ‘ ances of this programme, to-night and , Thursday, the theatre being ■ otherwise engaged on Friday.
