A GOVERNMENT CAUCUS.
OBSTRUCTION TO LAND BILL TO BE ABANDONED.
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. A caucus of the Liberal party was » held to-day, and lasted for over swo hours. An official statement Las been given by the Premier to the effecc that the caucus was attended by every member of the party except Messrs Luke and Hogg, and several members ? who were accounted for. The position of the business in the House was placed before the party by Six Joseph "Ward. The caucus agreed to a course - of procedure suggested by him. It ; was decided that the Land Bill should. , be introduced and that the present obstruction, so far as members of the , party are concerned, should cease. It was indicated that it would be pos-|P sible to finish the proceedings by the 22nd December, but, if that is not possible, Parliament should meet early next year, some time after February, : this meeting to take the place of the > ordinary 1910 session if the business, could be got through. A general discussion upon party matters conclude*' the caucus, which expressed heart o-oodwill towards the Prime Minister/
