rPEn Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. . % Joseph Williams, a farmer, of Auckland was to-day committed tor tnal on a charge of attempting tq murder Francis Joseph Martin. The latter xstated in evidence that he met accused, his father-in-law, in Ghuznee Street on the evening of the Ist inst., and j thev had a few words about accused s,- ;.; daughter. Williams pulled' a revolver _ from his pocket, ond fired at Martin, the shot grazing the latter’s neck. The arresting constable stated that while taking accused to the station, he admitted the shooting, and said he was very sorry that he did not shoot him dead. He also alleged that Martin had ruined his (accused’s) daughter, who is only 13 years of age.
