Three matches in the handicap sin--fries of the Gisborne Bowling Club were played on the club’s green yesterday afternoon. Three match games were played on the Turanganui Club’s green yesterday afternoon, with the following results:
—Bennett Cup.— J. J. Martin 19 beat W. Bnice 161. Half-way through the game Martin bad. a commanding lead, and liad the game in hand. On the last few heads Bruce pulled up a lot, aftd suffered defeat by ° tt l fXnKls heat T. Mctonell and even on the 14th head the Payers were £SSo all. On the 17th head Martin had the -advantage of one—l 3 to 12 and by scoring two twos and single put the game out of his opponents reach, and winning .by five points. —Challenge Walking Stick.— J. D. Jeune (holder) 8 beat R. Thelwall (challenger) 3.—Thelwall put u,p a couple of the first head, which vas Replied to by Jeune with a three and a +Jo.
