THE WEATHER
The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’, summary, and forecast: —Rain hits fallen in Taranaki and about the East Cape, but elsewhere the weather has been remarkably warm and fine. The : barometer has risen steadily in the south, but has fallen slowly in the far north. Northerly' and westerly winds have prevailed. • The present conditions are very unstable, especially ill the north, for low pressure exists everywhere to the westward, and, although there are but few positive indications of a cliango in the immediate future, yet such is probable shortly. Freshening northerly winds are expected in the far north, anod Avestefly prevailing elsewhere,
